These are the basic work­ings of a Ther­mosyphon (Left) and pumped Solar sys­tem (Right), the fun­da­men­tal dif­fer­ence is on a ther­mosyphon sys­tem the pan­el is low­er than the geyser and the Heat in the pan­el dri­ves the Hot water heat­ed from the sun into the geyser. On a pumped sys­tem the pan­els are high­er than the geyser and a pump is need­ed to dri­ve the hot water to the geyser
